One of these diet pills that can actually help, is the supplement hoodia. Hoodia was profiled on the television show 60 minutes as a new pill with alot of promise. Hoodia is a weight loss pill that can really reduce your appetite and does not have and negative side effects. It is derived from a south african cactus and has been used for many years by african tribes to fight off hunger.
Hoodia Gordonii contains a substance extracted by pharmaceutical companies called P57. This is the compound that was isolated from the cactus that contained the appetite reducing properties. The problem that these companies had was that they had a difficult time creating this substance in large quantities.
Other weight loss pills that may be somewhat helpful might contain bitter orange extract or acetyl l carnitine. These natural supplements are much safer than ephedra, which is the most commonly addition to these pills. Acetyl l carnitine if taken in the morning, can reduce your appetite all day long. It is a commmon amino acid that is easily found on the internet. It can be very effective at reducing your appetite. Bitter orange work by stimulating the beta 3 receptors in the body and will boost your metabolism. This supplement is less well known and may be more difficult to find.
